The Bean Blossom Music Series features
spiritually uplifting
performances by regional and nationally known artists in a wide variety
of traditions, from classical sacred music to folk, jazz and
contemporary choral works.
Children are welcome. Admission is free - donations to the Music Series
are will be gratefully accepted.
St. David’s is located at the intersection of State Road 135 and
State Road 45, five miles north of Nashville in Bean Blossom, IN. DIRECTIONS Children
are welcome and admission is always free, but donations in support of the
Bean Blossom Music Series will be gratefully received.

2008 Concerts...
On Sunday, May 18 Moira Smiley
presented a concert of original street singing, vocal improvisation, Shape Note singing and Southern Hymnody. Moira was in town for the Bloomington Early Music Festival, and it was a joy to welcome her to Bean Blossom!

closed out our 2007 season. In 2006, Pat was nominated for the
International Folk Alliance’s Emerging Artist of the Year
award and the Independent Music Awards’ Best Gospel Song.

Friday, November 10, 2006 the Bean Blossom Music Series presented ENSEMBLE
HERMITAGE,
a professional vocal ensemble from St. Petersburg, Russia, performing
Russian folk tunes and the sacred music of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Tribute to
Women in Jazz, featured an outstanding ensemble including vocalist Janiece Jaffe, Carolyn Dutton on
violin, pianist Monika
Herzig, and Jennifer
Kirk on bass, with drummer Lawrence Clark III.

The
Bean Blossom Music Series finished its
outstanding 2005 season with classical
saxophonist extraordinaire and I.U. doctoral candidate Adam McCord, who
gave the final
concert of
the current season on Saturday,
November 19, featuring compositions by
Debussy, Schumann,
Saint-Saëns, Ravel and others. Mr. McCord was accompanied
on
piano by Haruko Murphy of the IU music faculty.
