Building Bridges - A Time to Break the Silence

Clergy & Laity Concerned About Iraq & Afghanistan

On Sunday, April 6, 2008 at IVTech, Bloomington, Indiana - An interfaith afternoon of prayer, gospel anthems, table conversation, remarks by local Christian, Jewish and Muslim clergy, and an address by Scott Russell Sanders. The gathering opened and closed with Heartsounds music.

The group observed the 40th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on April 4, 1968. It also commemorated A Time to Break the Silence, King's pivotal speech to a meeting of Clergy Laity Concerned About Vietnam, by coincidence on April 4 1967, at Riverside Church, New York City.
