The Saint David's community gathers for worship at 9:30 AM every Sunday to sing, listen to readings from the Bible, hear a sermon, pray, offer the blessing of God's Peace to one another, and celebrate the Lord's Supper with wine and home-baked bread.

There's Children's Church for the younger set, and children are always welcome to bring quiet toys and books.

Wednesdays at 7 PM a smaller group gathers for the Lord's Supper and quiet talk.

At both these services, we're saving a seat for you. Come and visit!

What We Care About

On Palm Sunday 2007 we took strips of cloth and wrote on them the visions we have of the Kingdom of God - then we put these in the path of the cross as it was brought into the church. If you want to know what kind of people we are - what we have on our minds - here it is, stitched up into a rough banner.

Members of our church do all sorts of things to serve folks in our area and in the wider world. We know we can count on one another for the acts of simple kindness that friends offer those they love. We're loyal supporters of Mother's Cupboard, a community program that gives a daily free supper and a sack of groceries to anyone who comes, no questions asked. All food and labor are donated. We're helping with an after-school program in Brazil, giving scholarships to schoolchildren in Vanuatu, and working and working to make Brown County a better place for everyone. We've got

  • * musicians who sing and play with skill and beauty
  • * devoted environmentalists
  • * animal lovers who serve the Humane Society
  • * tutors and mentors in schools and in the county jail
  • * builders of houses for Habitat for Humanity
  • * people who bring food to those in need * Friends of the Brown County Public Library and Friends of Brown County State Park
  • * and members of local service organizations.
We share God's love for our neighbors through a growing number of outreach activities, including our annual Brown County Community Service Project, Thanksgiving and Christmas food and gift drives, visits to the Brown County Community Care Center, and the "Just Friends" prison correspondence program. St. David's sponsors the Guardian ad Litem program for children at risk in the Brown County court system. We work hard for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. And we are always open to new ideas.
Would you like to give money to help others but feel like what you have to give isn't enoough to make a real difference? Join those dollars or nickels and dimes with other folks at St. David's and help people right here in Brown County and around the world. Along with helping out with money, St. David's people are volunteers and leaders in local ministries such as Hospice, Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Mother's Cupboard, and the Brown County Literacy Program. In addition, regular financial offerings support the Episcopal Church's work in prisons, shelters for battered women, AIDS ministries, and disaster relief in Indiana and around the world.
